Three & Four

To think, if we would have listened to what "conventional wisdom" and the media and our peers said, we would have stopped at two. I'm grateful that His plan is far superior to anything I could ever dream up.

I know this video has been all over the internets in the past month, but I'm re-posting it for any of my readers who haven't seen it. I totally ugly cried.

Happy Things {v.14}

It's been a while since I've done a 'Happy Things' post. But today is definitely a day when I need to really recognize the good, cause Holy Mary Mother of God, today was weird and trying and full of whining. So..

....

Happy, happy:

Apologies. Hugs. Mutual apologetic hugs.

Friends that can talk politics without getting butt hurt.

Health insurance. 'Cause God knows I don't have an extra $40,000 hanging around to pay for that whole perforated ulcer debacle.

Well behaved babies.

A terrorist toddler that is single-handedly keeping me skinny.

Re-learning how to pray the Rosary. Pretty embarrassing to admit that I have no recollection of learning to how pray it in catechism.

Family game night.

Marking 10 years since the first time I officially met le husband.

Wrist stabilizing braces. Yeah, carpal tunnel is a b*tch.

Kids that pay the candy tax.

...

I posted this to my Facebook earlier, but it's worth sharing again.

Happy Things {v.13}

You know when the best time to write a Happy Things list is?

When you're not feeling it.

When you're feeling a little down in the dumps and on the verge of declaring your day a total suck fest. Then you sit down and actually think about all the pure joy that surrounds you and you kind of feel like a jackass for ever feeling ungrateful.

....

This week's Happy Things:

Remy's new found use of the word "Go!"

House repairs that end up costing less than expected.

Frozen strawberries.

End of school! (3 more days!)

Fast drying yellow nail polish.

The fact that I can still paint my toenails without tumbling over like Humpty Dumpty.

This picture.

Gain scented Febreze.

The growing stockpile of diapers and baby wipes that's overtaking the floor of Remy's closet.

29 successful, totally uneventful weeks of pregnancy!

Doctor's appointments that include words like "perfect" and "textbook."

An eight year old son that will take awkward photos for you.

Three day weekends!

TGIF.

IV Chronicles&Happy Things {Quick Edition}

26 weeks.

So, it's pretty official.

I am so uncomfortable.

Pukey, out of breath, feeling as if I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Name it and I have it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still relishing every second of this pregnancy. But I'm just huffing and puffing as I'm relishing.

....

Happy Things.

Star Wars Day. May the Fourth be with you.

Waking up to a certain little girl snuggling up in her dad's spot in our bed.

Little boys in overalls.

Happy Things {v.12}

I had plans to sit down and blog last night after our excursion 40 miles down the interstate to tie up a couple loose ends at the dealer where we bought our new car, but then something happened on the way home that hasn't happened in a VERY long time.

I got car sick.

Totally embarrassing, yes?

Thankfully, I held it together long enough to get in the house and put Remy to bed before losing my dinner, declaring defeat and going to bed.

I blame le husband and his driving skills.

....

Happy Things!

A new car that fits all of us without any kids touching one another.

Olivia snoring loudly on the way back last night.

Early morning dance parties with Owen before school.

Good hair days.

The way Remy says Owen. "Onnnn!"

Afternoons spent planning projects for the house.

Evenings spent dreaming about scrapping all the projects, selling the house, and buying THE house that's been taunting us with its huge yard and five bedrooms for the past year.

Finally figuring out a medication regime to get my heartburn under control.

Waffles. Lots and lots of waffles.

Sweet baby, or not so baby :( cheeks.

Weather forecasters who get it all wrong. (Calling for up to a foot of snow and barely getting a coating. SCORE.)

Remy's reaction to riding with the windows down.

....

Have a great weekend y'all!

Happy Things {v.11}

After last night's little pity party, I was blown away by everyone's support and high five worthy comments. One, in particular, really stuck out and had me giggling.

"I hope you're done"??????
Why? Because a table full of loving, happy faces at Thanksgiving for the rest of her life is the worst a woman can imagine for her future? Because people so often say "man, sure wish I hadn't had that last kid"? Because watching Jersey Shore in peace is some kind of Great Good in the world?
Ugh!

High fives to Dwija for being awesome.

....

More happy things?

Catching Remy falling asleep while sitting up.

....

Cookie cake! And gummi bears! And triple berry banana smoothies!

....

This boy's post nap snot nose smooshy face.

....

Rainy afternoons spent around the dining room table being creative.

....

"Mom, I really don't have time for pictures today." - Liv

....

Watching Owen create his family portrait for school.
"I'll just draw a big question mark for the new baby!"

....

Finding inventive ways to keep Remy contained. The kid is Spiderman. I can't let him out of my sight or he starts climbing walls and curtains.

....

This face.

....

Everything about these people. <3

Happy {Happy!} Things {v.12}

Mother nature must have been listening when I complained about the never ending stream of dreary weather and decided to throw me a bone cause BAM!

....

Things that are making me happy:

The sun streaming through my dining room window.

This girl's enthusiasm for school. She practically leaps out the car every day.

Breathing new (more colorful!) life into something old.

Afternoons with Remy...

...watching him discover the joy of an empty cardboard box...

...and the absolute deliciousness of brownie batter.

Quiet time with a bowl of homemade potato soup and the Kindle Fire.

Babies that smell like magic.

Empty living rooms.
We sold our sofa tonight in preparation for getting a new one tomorrow!

....

Have a great weekend!

Happy Things {v.10}

I meant to write this last night when I wasn't feeling so happy. Just when I thought we were all in the clear and had conquered the great plague of 2012, I got hit with it. Yesterday may have been the longest day in my existence thus far on earth, not being able to call John home from work and silently cursing our decision to move 1200 miles from our extended families, the people I would call upon in such a situation.

But the good news? I didn't vomit on anyone or in the school parking lot. Oh, and I went to bed at 8:45.

Happy Things!

- New Minnetonkas!

- Making lots of progress in our kitchen.

- Remy managing to only get a touch of the plague this weekend.

- Blogger friends that send you a box full of fabulous maternity basics.

- Saturday night trips to TJ Maxx ALONE. BY MYSELF. I went shopping without any children! (It's a big deal, people.)

- The quotes for the roof repair coming back less than what I thought it was going to be.

- Watching Remy go absolutely nuts every time we listen to this song.

- Catching le husband singing the above song under his breath.

- Starting to clearly see and understand the direction in which my life is going. And liking it.

- Lysol, Febreeze, and Spot Shot, for which I am eternally grateful.

- And this. Which has been happening more and more each day. (Excuse the mess. I'm working on it!)

Happy Things {v.9}

I'm eating a giant Wendy's bacon cheeseburger while typing this post. If that ain't a happy thing, I don't know what is.

This picture right here is a happy thing. Baby derp face and my uber-sexy pajama pant/fake Ugg boot ensemble.

Having my mom here allowed me to go help out in Olivia's classroom today sans Remy. I loved seeing that she has teachers that are passionate about what they do. That's most definitely a happy thing.

I was an idiot, slacker parent who somehow managed to let her kid burn his hand on her flat iron this morning. That is most definitely not a happy thing.

(I'm still groveling at the poor child's feet.)

And you know what's a really, really happy thing?

Friends that will send you a little slice of home. Just because.
