Hell week.

Sorry for sort of disappearing, y'all.

Let's jump right in, shall we?

It's been a hell week of sorts. Started with Olivia getting sick on Friday, me catching a terrible cold and the crappy really peaking on Monday morning when we ended up in the emergency department with a very feverish little girl.

Like 105 degree fever. Scared the crap out of me.

We seem to be on the upswing of illness though, with Liv returning to school today and me going all day without any major headache.

But...

Remy's going through some major growing pains and really giving me a run for my money and sanity.

Maybe it's my lack of patience lately or partly due to my growing belly becoming a hindrance to being able to really chase after him but...I'm just tired. So, so tired.

Linking up with Em again this week!

....

A friend of mine (Miss Heather Whitten!) did some blogging yesterday that really spoke to me. So much so that I actually took time out and read her entry more than once. A rare thing for me.

And the following statements really resonated with me:

"...I put myself. my struggle. my story. out there for anyone to see. Because, in the end I’m worthy of expression. I’m worthy of being heard. I’m worthy of connection."

"...this blog. these pictures. all of my over-sharing. are the way that I break out of my box and reach out to all of you with love and with truth and with hope."

....

Goodnight.

Whoops {Embrace the Camera}

These are the remnants of my afternoon snack. I had originally planned to eat only two. Whoopsie.

Gluttonous pregnant woman achievement unlocked!

Linking up with Em this week!

April 12, 2012

I'm not dead.

I know I sort of declared this space to be a sunshine and roses sort of spot, where I focus on the good and let go of the tough moments..

But y'all..

Three kids and a sick dog (let me reiterate...coming out of both ends on my white carpet for TWO days) and a husband who is away for work have made for a decidedly hellish 48 hours.

Thankfully, we are on the upswing. And I'm no longer up to my elbows in dog vomit.

....

Linking up with Em this week for Embrace the Camera..

I haven't even come close to touching my real camera in the last few days, so Instagram it is!

Happy Thursday!

Embrace the Camera

What a wild week it's been.

I'm kidding. It hasn't been wild. It's been productive. All this sunshine and warm temperatures have given me enormous bursts of energy. Which means more time spent in the sunshine, more time tackling unfinished projects, less words and less blogging. Other than throwing a couple pictures up and calling it a day.

We're linking up with Em and embracing the webcam today before we head outside!

G'day!

Embrace the Camera & IV Chronicles

Whoa guys! These past couple weeks have been flying by. I'm nineteen weeks tomorrow! NINETEEN! Where the heck did that come from?

Newest symptoms?

Very easily getting out of breath. And feeling HUGE. Baby IV seems to be growing bigger and stronger by the day. Just this morning, I was able to feel movement from the outside. Such a cool way to kick off my Thursday.

Things I've been craving this week: lemon water, avocados, smoothies, and of course Mexican food.

....

I'm glad that I never announced our chosen names because we ended up changing our baby girl's name. It sort of came out of left field the other day, but I'm so so so so so excited about the names we've picked now.

Only 14 days until the big ultrasound!

Linking up with Em again this week and embracing the camera with my Remy and the bump. Can you excuse the sad state of my patio? Although it's starting to feel like spring, it's entirely too early for any planting. I can't wait to start sprucing up the exterior of the house! A few more weeks perhaps!

Embrace the Camera

I snapped this of Remy and me yesterday when we were basking in the 60 degree weather. (Unheard of this time of year in these parts.)

But all good things come to an end and Mr. Weatherman is calling for rain today. Lots of it. But we're going to take our lemons and make some lemonade. We're going thrifting!

Linking up with Em! Have a good one!

Embrace the Camera & 11 Things

First things first, we're linking up with Em again this week!

No worries, those are safety scissors my daughter is so menacingly clutching. For the very first time in his 14 months of life, my Remy is running an official fever. Boo.

...

Liv tagged me in her 11 Things post. Here are the rules! But I'm going to break a few.

1. You must post these rules
2. Post a photo of yourself and 11 random bit of info about yourself.
3. Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions and tag people to answer them.
5. Let the people know you've tagged them!
(Lame, I know, but I have to skip the last 3. I have approximately 20 minutes to myself before my sick little dictator wakes up.)

Since I've already shown you my mug today, the above shall count as my photo of myself. Okay? Okay! Let's get personal.

1. There's only one food I've ever tried and absolutely hated. Beets! Back in first grade, in the cafeteria line, I spotted what I thought was cranberry sauce and excitedly shoved a piece in my mouth only to nearly gag on a beet. I haven't tried them since.

2. I used to have a very symmetrical face until I was in a car accident right after I turned 17. My head slammed against my steering wheel, breaking my nose, giving me a nice gash and a now crooked nose. Eh. It's just one of those things.

3. I was diagnosed with a gnarly case of scoliosis when I was 12 or 13. After having to wear a ridiculous plastic back brace everyday for two years, I still ended up with two major spinal surgeries. My anterior spinal fusion scar is still very visible, but I hardly notice it anymore.

4. I had a wild streak about a mile wide during the last few years of high school. It's almost difficult to recall some of the shenanigans I got into because that girl is so incredibly 180 from what I am now.

5. I hate washing my hair and all the nonsense that comes with trying to fix it. Luckily since moving to a drier climate, I can get away with only having to force myself to do it twice a week.

6. If finances allow, I would probably want at least 6 kids. That sound you just heard? Probably my husband's jaw hitting the floor whilst simultaneously falling out of his chair.

7. I've always had this desire to live out in the country, in a little farm house, with a couple acres of land. Luckily, if we stay here in central Pennsylvania, it's a dream that is 100% attainable, though the amount of work that would entail practically gives me heart palpitations.

8. At this point in my life, I have no desire to work outside the home. Call it old fashioned, call it a disservice to the women's movement. I don't care. I am 100% fulfilled being at home. No we are not rich. And yes, it is a sacrifice. But the thought of anyone else raising my babies makes me queasy.

9. I sing and dance around a lot. No, it's an embarrassing amount. The car, the kitchen, as I'm getting dressed in the morning. More often than not, I'm humming a little tune and doing my own ridiculous choreography.

10. I can't sit and relax in the evenings until my kitchen is clean, the floors swept and mopped, and the living room vacuumed. To me, there's nothing worse than waking up to a messy house.

11. I obsessed with Mexican food. The amount of times a day that I think about eating it is disturbing.

....

Did you make it to the end? Did you die of boredom?

Happy Thursday!

Embrace the Camera

We're linking up with Em today for Embrace the Camera!

We're embracing the webcam again this week.

Olivia is obviously still embracing the goofy face.

And check this out! A 15w6d baby bump, which is starting to look very much like a baby bump.

Embrace the Camera

It's our first time linking up with Em @ The Anderson Family Crew.

Olivia is particularly fond of the "tongue out" face as of late.

I have a very cranky little boy on my hands (or should I say on my hip?) today. He's covered in snot and refusing to nap. So what's a girl to do? Bring him to the grocery store to torture other shoppers of course!

Have a good one!
