What I CAN do.

I'm not crafty.

Or particularly fond of messes.

I'm not so patient.

I'm not creative.

I'm not a great cook.

No one will ever ask me to write a book on parenting. One, I can't write.
Two, I really am just flying by the seat of my pants.

I may not be able to whip up a four course dinner, a cute birthday cake, or custom make my kids' clothes, but what can I do?

I can teach them to love.

I can teach them right from wrong.

I can teach them to pray.

I can pray for them.

I can teach them, despite what the world tells them, that it's okay to stand up for something, even if you're the only one standing.

I can teach them that marriage is hard, but so worth it.

I can teach them to not be afraid to embrace life.

I can teach them that they're going to make mistakes, big ones, but it's how you handle your messes that defines you.

I can teach them that God is not akin to a vending machine. And His answers to your prayers may not be what you had in mind.

But above all, I can teach them that He loves them and He never abandons you.
I'm proof of that.
