Linking up with Jen again this week!
1. We're in the beginning stages of summer vacation planning. I've decided to all together skip out on my 10 year high school reunion back in Louisiana in favor of..
Maine! The Bar Harbor area to be exact. Since I'm the anti-Disney, I figure what could be less stressful than renting a house in the woods where there are no giant fictional characters?
2. Speaking of Louisiana,..
My plans for my coming week pf vacation, obviously.
3. Like clockwork, my yearly bout of homesickness hits precisely the moment the windchill gets below zero.
4. We're taking all the kids to the local Catholic school's open house this Sunday. I'm 93% sure that we're going to be making the switch next school year, barring any unforeseen circumstances. Hopefully, this little tour thingimajig will get the kids a little more excited and involved in the process.
5. This is always worth mentioning, but even more so this week.
6. This week I'm thankful for: cheap beer, husbands that know how to use crockpots, end of winter clearance sales, space heaters, 3 pound bags of gummi bears, the ability to bribe decent behavior out of Remy at mass with peanut butter crackers.
and an extra just for good measure..
8. I just wanted to state publicly that I despise my husband for introducing me to flow free thus ruining any chances of me doing housework this week.
Stupid iPhones and their stupidly awesome apps.
Totally with you on being anti-Disney. I lived in Florida for my entire life except for the past 2 years and I have still never gone. I have no desire to, either.
ReplyDeleteAlso, eat up some crawfish for me. That's one thing I'm going to miss this coming Mardi Gras time. Texas just doesn't do it the same way the Gulf Coast does.
I just don't get the whole Disney thing. It just seems like the anti-relaxing vacation, kwim?
DeleteI will definitely eat some crawfish for you and for everyone on the interwebs. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Hope you and that cute little belly are doing well! :)
WE are actually going to Florida this year for our family vacation...I'm not big on Disney, but Universal Studios is another story. :) But I am insisting on a couple of quiet days at the beach and in the rental home with just us having some true R & R. :)
ReplyDeleteNice to stumble on your blog today. I look forward to reading more (I came here through your I Chose Life post which was awesome and made me cry "that's beautiful" tears. :) )
Don't get me wrong, my husband is dying to bring the kids to Disney..I'm just the Grinch. But it sounds like you're doing it right..I might have to copy your quiet days at the beach idea. ;)
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
LOVE LOVE LOVE Bar Harbor! So much to do and see. It's so much fun just to walk around the town and see all the shops and the sights. Lots of fun places to eat. Have a great time! :)
