Another Sappy Post

When we were in Louisiana, we were able to squeeze in a family photo session with my lovely friend, Lindsey. As a photographer, I know that capturing this many people can be a challenge and a bit intimidating. Lindsey rocked it. I encourage anyone that needs photography services in the South Louisiana area to go to her website and look around. I mean, by the time we were through, my kids didn't want to leave and made it a point to tell her that they'd miss her. D'awwww.

....

I was just going to post a few photos, but as I was browsing through them for the hundredth time, I couldn't help but reflect on just how different our lives look today compared to eight years ago.

To think about what we've built together. The moments of defeat, failure, and hardship that brought us to present day. The people who told us that we'd be just another statistic. The times when we barely had enough to get us by another day.

Sometimes, in the shuffle and busyness of life and getting everyone where they need to be, I tend to forget just how far we've come. And how far we've yet to go.

I can't believe that snotty, selfish teenage girl and that quiet, mischievous boy, the kids that didn't have two pennies to rub together, managed to create something so wonderful.

We done good, honey. <3

Have a great weekend y'all...
