It's no secret to the people nearest and dearest to me that I'm struggling with a serious case of super woman syndrome. Add to that a little smidge of homesickness and you have the recipe for one burnt out mom.
After a mini meltdown of sorts yesterday, I regrouped, got a good night's rest, and started my day like I always do, checking all forms of social media at 6AM. (I'm addicted. I know. Leave me be.)
Then I was stopped in my tracks by not one, but two of my favorite bloggers. First, the ever so lovely, photographer extraordinaire, Jen McKen posted about her birthday experience yesterday. You can find that post here.
And then Blair over at Growing May Flowers wrote about her own struggles managing her three sweet little ones and how she's implementing a fake it 'til you make it attitude. You can find that post here.
So that's what I'm going to do.
I'm going to fake it til I make it.
Slow down and enjoy this life. It's the only one I've been given.
Start being grateful for what I do have and not dwelling on what I don't.
And realize sometimes it's okay to let the laundry pile up in order to go outside and play.
The kids won't care if the house is magazine perfect, but they'll remember whether or not mom took the time to play and laugh with them.
Have a happy Friday, internet..
